About

Hey there, I’m Audrey Johnson! I’m a Colorado native living in London, England. I attend King’s College London in the pursuit of the my earning my MSc in International Marketing. I successfully completed all the degree courses, and am currently finalizing my dissertation on luxury social media marketing. As I begin my job search, I am working to update this website and e-portfolio with projects and assignments from my MSc education.

If you have taken the time to visit this website, thank you for your time and consideration! I am a very enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a true passion for luxury fashion and jewelry. I dream of finding a career within the industry that allows me to use my greatest skills: creativity, interpersonal intelligence, and attention to detail. Additionally, I believe my extensive academic achievements and previous work experience has provided me with knowledge and expertise and sets me apart.

One thing you should know about me is that I am highly teachable and adaptable. As you will see from my academic accomplishments, I’m a dedicated student. Ever since I was young, I’ve been a fast learner who adores challenging and expanding my knowledge. Similarly, I’ve always been extremely adventurous and am exhilarated by new experiences. I’ve lived in two different countries, France and the United Kingdom, which has made me resilient and versatile. Therefore, not only do my traits of teachability and adaptability make me a unique candidate, but a future career that tests my limits in these areas is vital to my personal growth! I truly work best under pressure!

The King’s College London MSc International Marketing program consisted of a variety of rigorous courses that provided me with a rich and profound education. Notable courses that are crucial to the modern marketing environment include Sustainability and Ethics, Digital Marketing, and Omnichannel Retailing. These courses trained me in navigating the digital landscape and first party data, creating synergy between the online and offline customer experience, and balancing marketing and sustainability objectives. Additionally, certain courses laid a strong foundation for my career by requiring me to simultaneously learn and apply the principles through projects, competitions, and case studies. For example, in my Marketing Strategy and Planning course I executed weekly business decisions in a marketing simulation competition. In my Consumer Behavior course, we analyzed case studies that enriched my critical thinking and analysis skills through real-life marketing scenarios.

Prior to my enrollment at King’s, I was a Client Advisor for Louis Vuitton for a little over a year and during Covid-19. I’m extremely grateful for this experience in sales, and to have played a part in the boom of luxury purchases online. As a Client Advisor I interpreted internal policies and guidelines using professional judgment to make decisions that promote customer loyalty, trust, revenue growth, and retention. Additionally, I managed essential relationships and acted as a liaison between clients and the brand. Through my actions, I brought the fashion house’s strategic vision and culture to life by shaping the customer experience. I’m very proud of my sales performance in which I consistently exceeded quarterly KPIs, specifically in sales with a conversion rate 300% above the company average.

I attended Southern Methodist University where I received three Bachelor degrees in Journalism, Fashion Media, and French with a minor in Advertising. During my time at SMU, I pushed myself academically and professionally through several French immersion programs, internships, and rigorous course load required to receive three BAs.

For my Journalism and Fashion Media degrees, I worked on the campus broadcasts and publications. For the two broadcasts , The Daily Update (news) and SMU Look (fashion &beauty), I created news packages, worked as a crew member, and also participated as a host and anchor. Not only did I learn to be comfortable in front of the camera, I also learned how to film and edit quality content (I used a Sony NX5U HD and DLSR camera, and used Adobe Premiere Pro for editing). In addition to broadcast, I’ve worked diligently for the campus publications, the Daily Campus (news) and SMU Look (fashion &beauty), where I wrote news articles, features, profiles, and even sponsored content. I learned the essential tools needed for writing engaging, ethical, and effortless content. You can find my some of my work from the broadcasts and publications on this website under “Portfolio”.

Thanks to my French major, I achieved fluency during my time as a college student. After four study abroad programs in Paris, I was able to experience life as a French student, employee, and citizen. I attended IFE where I took college level classes like sociology and political science in French, and taught by professors from the Sorbonne and Science Po. During my time with IFE, I wrote a fifty-page dissertation in French comparing sustainable fashion in the United States and France, much of which was inspired by an internship I had while abroad.

During my time at IFE, I interned for a luxury, sustainable brand called Kilometre. Due to its small workforce, I was tasked with important jobs such as being a liaison between our international embroidery workshops in India and Morocco, and luxury department stores ranging from Bergdorf Goodman in NYC to Galeries Lafayette in Paris. I also managed orders, assisted in new product development, graphic designed marketing materials, and wrote travel guides that accompanied the products.

The following summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to return to Paris and help Emilie Meinadier Consulting (EMC) during Men’s and Haute Couture Fashion Week. My duties consisted of communicating with several fashion houses to negotiate and secure invitations to shows, events, and presentations for influencers such as Leonie Hanne. Additionally, I also scheduled strategic business meetings, designer interviews, and photo coverage for fashion editors and critics, such as Vanessa Friedan for the New York Times.

That summer I was also gifted with the opportunity to work with W magazine as a freelance fashion assistant. I was the lead fashion correspondent between the Paris fashion houses and W magazine. This opportunity tasked with choosing and transporting between fashion houses in Paris to the London photo studio with the legendary Tim Walker. Ons set, I organized and styled the clothing during shoots with Penelope Tree and Frank Ocean.

I feel so incredibly grateful for the experiences I’ve had thus far. I feel prepared and excited to conquer whatever lies ahead.
